My name is Lize Engelbrecht/van Wyk and I started the Love Project out of love for God and because he gave me the dream and passion for this project/shop.
I grew up on a farm outside Lamberts bay on the west coast of South Africa. I started modeling after school and traveled for 6 years all over the world, I only studied Montessori Pre School Teaching, and I have no degree in business or experience how to open a shop or run a project.
Our tree seed was planted after a simple prayer to be used somewhere where I can make a difference and one evening in London 2005 I started getting ideas for a gift shop.
I arrived back in Cape Town not knowing how I will be able to start something like this.
I went to visit our youth pastor and I told him about my ideas…he then showed me drawing plans for our church building being reconstructed and that they have been looking for 2 months for someone who has ideas …I was overwhelmed…amazed.
In Oktober 2007 the Lord planted our first tree in Kloof street, Cape Town where Love Project blossomed and grew into a beautiful tree which was a Gift Shop, Workshop and Cafe. We were planted there for almost 4 years.
But our season came to an end there…and the Lord took me to a new valley…where our story starts now.
The beautiful Matzikama Valley…between the vineyards and rivers only 30minutes from where i grew up in Lambertsbay.
My husband started a business here producing Grape Seed Oil and i am so thankfull that the Lord bought us here.
My testimony has changed allot since Cape Town and it is exciting to see how the Lord is shaping me into what He wants me to be.
Love Project Workshop was started by my good friend Lizna Snyman and she gave me permission to also do the project here in Vredendal.
I am praying to be used where God leads me and to shine His light for all men to see!
